Whidbey Highland Farm is a family-owned homestead nestled on beautiful Whidbey Island, Washington, where we raise gentle Scottish Highland cattle, pigs, goats and sheep amid the island’s stunning landscapes.
Jake and Becky Marriott, both lifelong Whidbey Island natives, grew up exploring its shores, forests, and farmlands. They married in 2002 and embarked on adventures that took them far from home. For nine years, they lived in Bellingham before heading to Peru, where they opened a charming bakery and a popular beignet food cart, immersing themselves in new cultures, flavors, and entrepreneurial spirit.
In 2016, after those enriching years abroad, the couple returned to their roots on Whidbey Island with a renewed appreciation for simple, grounded living. It was here that the dream of starting a farm took shape. Inspired by the island’s agricultural heritage and their love for sustainable, small-scale farming, they began building Whidbey Highland Farm.
Today, Jake, Becky, and their four children call the farm their haven. They are passionate about raising hardy, heritage Highland cows, known for their distinctive long horns, shaggy coats, and gentle dispositions—while stewarding the land responsibly. The farm reflects their journey: a blend of island upbringing, global experiences, and a deep commitment to family, community, and the natural world.

Step into the heart of our 9-acre coastal sanctuary for an experience that is as educational as it is enchanting. Our farm tours offer a rare opportunity to trade the noise of the city for the gentle sounds of nature and the rhythmic salt air of Oak Harbor. Whether you are a curious traveler or a local nature lover, our guided journeys through the property provide a deep connection to the rural charm of Whidbey Island.
The star attraction of every tour is our resident herd of Scottish Highland cows. During your visit, you’ll also meet our charming Valais Blacknose sheep, often called the "cutest sheep in the world".
